Lifestyle Diseases

Lifestyle diseases, also known as NCDs (non-communicable diseases) refer to long-term conditions usually caused because of unhealthy poor habits like a bad diet, no exercise, tobacco use, drinking too much and too much stress. Under this umbrella comes diabetes, hypertension, obesity, heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer. In our country, such diseases have caused death aplenty, because of rapid urbanisation and living a sedentary lifestyle. That is why they cannot be ignored.
